1. Sales Velocity
"Does this product actually sell?"
Look for the yellow "Monthly Sold" line on the Keepa chart. That's your velocity signal.
If there's no yellow line anywhere on the chart, move on. No velocity means no sales. Don't guess. If you want your capital turned around in four to six weeks, make sure the velocity is there first.
Done in seconds. Not minutes.
2. Capital Protection
"Is my money safe?"
Visualize your break-even price as a horizontal line on the chart. Where does the buy box sit relative to that line?
If price stays below your break-even for 10+ days at a stretch, it's a no. If it dips but always pops back up, you're protected. No guarantees, but the pattern tells you where the odds are.
Pricing volatility can be your friend.
3. Potential Profit
"Can I actually make money?"
Target a minimum 20–40% ROI after all ASIN-level expenses. Not gross margin. ROI.
Use historical pricing evidence on the Keepa chart, not the current buy box price. The buy box is a snapshot. History is the pattern.
You sell regardless of who holds the buy box.
But before you even run the 3-Step Check, there's a pre-flight inspection.
Brand triangle: match the brand name across the title, image, and brand field. You need at least two of three to match. If the brand in the title says one thing and the brand field says another, that's a red flag.
Can you supply everything listed? Is the listing clean and unambiguous? If any answer is no, skip it. You've got thousands more to look at.
